The StageSmarts difference

StageSmarts was founded on the belief that the distribution of power was in need of a serious upgrade. The amount of sensitive high value technical equipment used on shows had increased decade by decade but power distribution was still stuck in the 1970’s.

We identified several areas in need of major improvement:

  • Protection against electric shock
  • Protection against destructive overvoltage
  • Cable length limitations
  • Nuisance tripping of breakers.

In addition to that, we also recognised the need for keeping a close eye on what is going on with electrical distribution. Even a minor event can be using hundreds of channels of electrical distribution- And when something goes wrong, you want to quickly find the cause and take care of it. We’ve made that possible.

Finally, we concluded that the best and most sustainable approach was to create a range of standardised products that satisfied a wide range of customers and applications. Fully certified, documented and fulfilling regional requirements that often gets overlooked (such emergency stop buttons).

We keep both your equipment and people safe

At StageSmarts, your safety is our top priority. We understand the importance of keeping both your equipment and crew protected from potentially catastrophic overvoltage. That’s why we developed our proprietary Loss of Neutral protection system, which instantly disconnects the unit from the mains supply if voltage levels become excessive. This rapid response keeps both your equipment and personnel safe from the moment you power on.
Our systems continuously monitors voltage so that your gear is protected at all times. Most of our products feature a main meter ahead of the main breaker. This lets you check incoming voltages before applying power to your equipment.

Customizable power distribution for every need

At StageSmarts, when developing the smartPDU, our goal was to introduce new functionality while bringing consistency to a fragmented market. Power distribution solutions often vary widely, with different connectors and wiring systems—even for the same type of connector—leading to potential risks.

Our solution is the modular output system, designed to quickly adapt your equipment for different markets and scenarios without locking you into a specific design. This modular approach allows you to customize and upgrade your units over time, increasing their long-term value and flexibility.

With modular outputs, you can easily replace a damaged connector on-site, even during a show. Swap out the faulty module and send only the damaged part for repair, avoiding the need to decommission the entire unit.

We offer a wide range of modules and connectors, including:

  • Single Socapex (standard or Solotech wiring)
  • Dual Socapex (standard or Solotech wiring)
  • Single Harting 16 (6 channels, various wirings)
  • Dual Harting 16 (6 channels, various wirings)
  • Harting 16 (8 channels)
  • Harting 24 (8 channels)
  • Harting 10 (4 channels)
  • Single Neutrik True1
  • Dual Neutrik True1

Note: Not all configurations are available for all products.

Our modular outputs provide the flexibility and reliability you need to adapt quickly and safely, no matter the environment.

Precision engineering for unmatched durability

At StageSmarts, our commitment to quality and durability is paramount. We design our products to stand the test of time, delivering consistent performance throughout their lifespan.

We utilise cutting-edge CAD/CAM systems to design and manufacture the mechanical components that form the backbone of our products. Our aluminium front panels are precision-routed using flat-bed CNC routers, ensuring tight tolerances and a flawless surface finish. These panels are then anodized for durability and aesthetic appeal, and laser-engraved in-house for long-lasting, flexible markings.

Our steel chassis undergoes a meticulous CNC-controlled process of punching, laser-cutting, and bending, achieving tolerances as precise as 0.2 mm for a perfect fit. Made from corrosion-resistant Aluzinc, these chassis are built to endure, even without additional coatings. For added protection and a refined appearance, all external and visible parts are powder-coated.

Durability, functionality, serviceability, and superior design are the cornerstones of our approach, resulting in products that exceed the sum of their parts.
